Bathroom Fitting Costs in Aberdeen: What Should Your Quote Include?

Understand the complete bathroom price before choosing between quotations.

Agree the Bathroom You Want to Price

Begin with the change you want to notice each day. You may need a better shower opening, a bath that suits family routines or somewhere for the toiletries that currently cover the basin. Write those priorities down before comparing suites. A quotation is easier to judge when it describes the improvement you want, as well as the products needed to provide it.

We design, supply and install bathrooms in Aberdeen. At a home appointment we look at the dimensions, existing fittings and work needed for your proposed room. Keeping a similar layout can still involve preparation beneath the new surfaces. Moving a fitting needs checking against the room and its connections; the position shown in an inspiration picture is a starting idea, rather than a measured plan.

Tell us which parts of the current bathroom work well. A useful bath or comfortable basin position may be worth keeping in the new arrangement. That conversation helps us explain what a change would achieve before you spend money on a different layout. Your written quote can then describe the bathroom you have actually chosen.

Check the Products as a Complete Set

Read the main product list alongside the room plan. A basin storage unit, basin and tap need to work together, including the drain fitting that connects the basin to its waste pipe. A bath may require a panel, screen and chosen taps. Ask which items are included with the selected products. A styled photograph can contain accessories that are priced separately, so the picture alone cannot confirm the contents of your quote.

Storage deserves the same attention as the suite. Look at what the drawer or cupboard can hold, how it opens and the space left in front of it. A shallow unit with a useful interior may serve the room better than a deeper cabinet. Explain where towels and daily products need to go so the selected furniture has a purpose.

Keep product names, dimensions and finish choices with the quotation. Two similar-looking screens or basin units can have different openings and connections. If you want another version, speak to us before ordering it. We can check whether it changes the layout, fitting work or price, and keep the agreed product list up to date.

Include the Preparation and Fitting

The supplied suite is one part of the installation. Read what the quote says about taking out the old fittings, preparing walls and floors, plumbing changes and fitting the new products. Check removal and waste arrangements too. You should be able to see which tasks are included and which parts of the room will stay as they are.

The existing condition affects this work. Removing a bath or cabinet can uncover wall or floor areas that were hidden. Old coverings can also conceal damage. We explain any further work that is needed and discuss its price before an additional task is agreed. Ask about any allowance or decision still open in the quotation so you understand the price being offered now.

If the proposed layout changes, compare the benefit with the work it requires. Moving a toilet involves different connections from changing a basin cabinet. A shower replacing a bath also needs a plan for the surfaces that the bath covered. Our bathroom prices page explains the main factors to discuss when requesting an itemised quote for the complete room.

Compare the Finished Walls and Floor

Compare a wall or floor finish as installed work. Tiles need suitable preparation and a finish around corners, windows and the bath or shower. Wall panels also need their edges and joints dealt with. Ask how those details appear in the proposal. The area covered and the work around the fittings matter alongside the cost of the visible material.

Think about the surfaces you will reach when cleaning. A very narrow gap beside a vanity or an awkward screen opening can make ordinary care harder. Show us the areas that are difficult now. We can discuss product sizes and openings while the layout is being chosen, instead of leaving the practical questions until the new room is fitted.

Look at samples with the furniture and taps you prefer. A change of tile, panel or flooring may affect preparation as well as appearance. Have the revised choice recorded before comparing the final total. Keep the care information for the actual products supplied; different surfaces can need different cleaning methods, even when their colours or textures look similar.

Read One Current Total

Check the products, fitting work, total and treatment of VAT together. Ask how deliveries, removal and any exclusions are shown. If one quotation covers a complete fitted room and another covers products alone, list the missing work before comparing the figures. A clear itemised description gives you a useful basis for deciding which proposal matches the bathroom you want.

Keep changes with that same record. A different screen, extra wall finish or altered fitting position should leave the written proposal describing the latest agreement. Discuss payment arrangements against the current total and work. If more than one person is choosing the bathroom, make sure everyone is looking at the same product list and layout.

Before accepting the fitting arrangements, read our guide to preparing for bathroom installation. It explains access, use of the bathroom during work and the questions to settle before products arrive. Bring us your postcode and main priorities when you enquire. We can measure the bathroom, discuss fittings that suit your room and set out the products and work in an itemised quote.
